ELITE SPORTS INJURY

Sputnik worked closely with Elite Sport Injury, a patient centered physiotherapy clinic, to design their newest facility located in the Bridgewater area of Winnipeg.   Elite provides a combination of treatment service, including physiotherapy, massage therapy, acupuncture, and education, and accommodating the efficient provision of these services within the small footprint of the Bridgewater clinic required carefully analysis of the uses and traffic flow of staff and patients. Using their two other existing facilities as reference, Sputnik was able to ensure that their newest location would be as functional as possible.  A simple solution of providing a “ring of circulation” for the staff allowed for access to the reception and treatment areas without the need for additional circulation. To further economize on the limited space, all details were custom built to suit their respective areas, including built-in seating in the reception area, custom change rooms and lockers which also divided the laundry closet from the public space, and a fully functional staff office with shared work counter, storage, and a small kitchenette. The physiotherapy treatment areas were designed with curtains to allow the entire area to be opened up when additional gym space is required. The overall design of the clinic is a well-researched and thought-out plan that maximizes on functionality and efficiency while meeting the needs of both the clinic’s staff and clients.
